Aircraft HL-was the first independantly built construction
by ing. Józefa
Medweckiego, a constructor working in a plane factory named „Samolot”(Airplane)
in Poznan. After authorizing the calculations Medweck began on the half of 1926
with the help of a few professionals and friends the build of his airplane. The
material needed to buld the model was partly bought, and partly accessibled by
the constructors factory and he three cylinder engine Anzani was lent to him by
the LOPP. The wooden sub-assembly of Medwecks airlpane was glued together in
his attic and the construction was joined together in an empty workshop at the Poznans
railway station. The airplane received a marking HL-2, coming from the surname
of a famous American comedy actor Harold Lloyd. An interesting thing in the
airplane was its right undercarriage wheel which was covered by linen, where
the left wheel had unscreened spokes. Medwecks main goal was to take part in Te
First Country Avion Contest in October 1927. In the early autumn of 1927 the
airplane had test flying. The airplane was painted light red ( except the front
of the fuselage which was made from sheet
aluminium), it had a black marking on the front of the fuselage HL 2 and
a picture of the famous actors glasses. On the 5 of October some difficulties
began to happen. A pipe leading fuel to the airplanes engine broke and
compulsive landing was needed. Before fixing the damages and finishing the
flight to Warsaw the contest already began and Medwecks Avion- with the
agreement of the commission –was able to take off beyond of the contest. Thanks
to that it was possible to compare the results to other airplane results which
started in the contest. After a nother compulsive landing, which-because of the
engines breakdown- took place in a contest flight from Warsaw to Deblin, the
broken engine was dismount out of the airplane while the airframe was ruined in
a car crash when transported to Poznan. The wooden construction is only glued.
The engine and the front part of the fuselage are covered with the aluminium
sheet. The cabins are uncovered, covered only by a windscreen. Wings are made
from a wooden construction, covered by plywood, with the look of a rectangle.
The undercarriage is three-support made from steel pipes with to main wheels, absordering
tail skids. Woodens construction control surfaces, hidden plywood, in the
classic configuration.

Patterns marked with red can be made in your
own free time from wire or foil PCV. The color which should be used to paint the
model is shown in the model description. All edges and unprinted surfaces
should be painted with properly chosen colors.
The order of the numbered pieces is not consistent with the order of the
models build. Use the rule „TRY ON
THREE TIMES AND THEN GLUE”
THE
